Tombstone, AZ

After the graduation hoopla and the Grandparents headed home, the McOmber's and our family headed for some sight seeing....

We drove to Tombstone! We had been learning about it in homeschool.

The kids enjoyed the window looking

And it was Wyatt Earp Days the following day so some of those who come to play were wandering the streets in costume already... it was neat!

We read all about Wyatt and Doc...

The greatest disappointment was the commerce of the place. There was near to NOTHING we could do without paying a large sum of money. It even cost more than we could afford to go into the museums! *ugh*

The Stage ride down a 4 block street cost more for us all to go than it would have been to take us all out to eat! LOL

Caleb liked the scary skeleton! There were a few fun sights to see and we just enjoyed ourselves anyway...

And we found some markers here and there to brush up on our histoty lessons...

The Tombstone court house :)

Cool old building anyway...

Cody found an old elevator shaft from the near by mines.

Posers! *Giggle*

Cam was tired of walking... and needed some food! We found a nearby park and pulled out our homemade sandwiches and feasted. (no meal is plain when you are with McOmbers)

He headed to the cemetary on our way out of town...

Franks Tombstone.
We enjoyed our jaunt to Tombstone. It was not what we had hoped - and if we go again we will remember to bring $$$ with us if we want to do anything... but the history was fun for the kids. Jestin's great grandma Alice danced with Wyatt Earp at her 16th birthday party - so we *had* to try to go and see his famous town you know! ;)
